Today at 8:00am (Nicaraguan time) the President of Abkhazia and the delegation he heads arrived in the capital of Nicaragua — Managua. At the airport Sergey Bagapsh was met by the Foreign Minister of Nicaragua Samuel Santos Lopez. From July 17 till July 21 Sergey Bagapsh will pay a visit to Nicaragua where he will meet with President Daniel Ortega and members of the government.

MINISTRY OF EDUCATION OF ABKHAZIA CONSIDERS 2009-2010 ACADEMIC YEAR SATISFACTORY
All the activities planned for the year have been carried out successfully, the Minister of Education Indira Vardania told journalists today. Today 169 schools, including 40 city ones and 129 village ones function in the republic.
Vardania said the number of schools did not decrease; new ones had opened in the past three years. “But these are the schools that have not functioned in the post-war period due to teachers shortage, for example, in the villages of Lashkindar and Arasadzykh”, the Minister specified.
